How Does A Refrigerant Dehumidifier Work?

Aug 01, 2023

Dehumidifier’s function:

Dehumidifiers regulate the humidity in a room by removing excess moisture from the air, thereby creating a living condition that is inhospitable to dust mites, mold and other allergenic organisms.

How does a refrigerant dehumidifier work?

Refrigerant dehumidifiers work much like air conditioners—warm, moist air is drawn into the dehumidifier by a fan. The moist air then crosses over the dehumidifier’s evaporator cooled coils,

Then heating the air, then outlet the dry air.

like a glass of ice water, the coils are colder than the air that is immediately around them. As air cools, its ability to hold and retain moisture drops, and when the air has more moisture than it can hold, it forms that familiar condensate. Dehumidifiers typically have a drip pan or a removable bucket or use drain by pipe where the condensate collects for easy disposal. Next, the cooled air passes back over the dehumidifier’s warm motor, which slightly reheats the air before it discharges back into the room. The dry and warm air outlet to the room

Below is a breakdown of the steps that how is the refrigerant dehumidifier work:

refrigerant dehumidifier

Moist air is drawn into the unit by a fan

Moist air passes over the evaporator cooled coils

As the air is cooled, its moisture condenses

Water falls into the drip pan or removable bucket

Dry air is then reheated by the heat recovery system

And then outlet to the room the dry air will higher 2-8 degree compare with the inlet moist air.

The defrost system will automatically when the working temperature below 15degree

The dehumidifier will automatically shut off when the drainage bucket is full and alarm you pour the water.

When the dehumidifier achieves the setting humidity, it will automatically turn off, when the humidity higher than 5% of the setting humidity the dehumidifier will automatically turn on.
